Under the motto “Hamburg has the best ... apps & app developers”, the Chamber of Commerce called on new developer talent, start-ups and established companies from the Hanseatic City to participate in the second “App Contest Hamburg”. A special prize for the “Best Financial App” was awarded by Finanzplatz Hamburg e.V.

The three-man “Finanzplatz jury”, consisting of Dr Reiner Brüggestrat (Hamburger Volksbank), Nikolaus von der Decken (Creditreform Hamburg von der Decken & Wall KG) and Marcus Vitt (Donner & Reuschel Aktiengesellschaft) finally chose the “Tabbt” app from Tabbt GmbH, which enables money to be sent to friends and payments to be shared. A unique safety concept was implemented as a result.

At the ceremonial prize-giving in the packed Albert Schäfer Hall, keynote speaker Dr Reiner Brüggestrat emphasised that the winner's contribution fully integrated the “mobile” principle into the product. “With just a few clicks, the app offers an on-the-spot solution to an annoying everyday problem of trying to share money among friends, acquaintances or colleagues.”
